The streets of Wells will soon resound with laughter as the Wells Comedy Festival reveals a fresh lineup of top-tier talent for its 2025 edition. Set for the May bank holiday weekend, the festival promises a hilarious mix of big-name comedians, beloved festival regulars, and exciting newcomers.
Topping the latest announcement is Bafta-nominated Simon Amstell, former host of Never Mind the Buzzcocks, who’ll make his Wells debut. Rosie Jones, known for Taskmaster and Live at the Apollo, returns with a fresh work-in-progress show.
Fan-favorite Glenn Moore is back, while Rhys James has added a second performance due to popular demand. Acclaimed comedian Katie Norris will present her show Farm Fatale, joined by Live at the Apollo’s Thanyia Moore, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Abby Wambaugh, The Stand Up Sketch Show’s Michael Akadiri, and rising stars Peter Rethinasamy and Marjolein Robertson.
These acts join previously revealed Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Amy Gledhill and Joe Kent-Walters, alongside nominees Catherine Bohart, Jessica Fostekew, Chris Cantrill, Nick Helm, and Mat Ewins.
The festival’s four gala shows, featuring a stellar blend of performers, are selling out quickly. Tickets for most events are available now at www.wellscomfest.com, with Simon Amstell’s show going on sale Friday, February 14, at 10am.
