Learn if your attic holds a fortune as Antique experts return

Antique lovers and collectors, mark your calendars! The much-awaited Dulverton Antiques Valuation Day is making a grand return on Saturday, March 29, bringing expert valuers to the heart of Exmoor. Whether you have a family heirloom, a vintage find, or an old painting gathering dust in your attic, this event might just reveal a hidden fortune.

Expert Valuations by Adam Partridge Auctioneers

Following the success of previous years, Adam Partridge Auctioneers will once again collaborate with Visit Dulverton to assess a variety of antique items. The event will be held at Dulverton’s historic Town Hall, where experts will evaluate:

  • Jewellery
  • Fine art
  • Collectors’ items

Adam Partridge, a well-known antiques specialist from TV shows like Antiques Roadshow, Flog It!, Antiques Road Trip, and Bargain Hunt, will be present along with his team. Visitors can receive informal valuations between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM.

How to Get Your Antiques Valued

Visitors can bring up to three portable items for assessment for a £5 donation. There’s no need to pre-book—just show up and join the first-come, first-served ticketing system.

If you’re interested in selling your antiques, you can even consign items for upcoming specialist auctions. This is a great opportunity for collectors looking to turn their treasures into profit.

Exciting Free Competition: Guess the Mystery Objects

Adding to the fun, the event will feature a free competition where visitors can test their antique knowledge. Three mystery objects will be displayed, and participants must guess their original purpose. The winner will take home a bottle of wine, generously donated by Town Mills B&B.

Local Businesses Showcasing Unique Handcrafted Items

Beyond antique valuations, the event will also feature a selection of local businesses displaying and selling handcrafted, upcycled, and repurposed items. Some of the exhibitors include:

  • Oggies Music Shop – Unique musical instruments
  • Simple Hide Leather Goods – Handmade leather bags crafted from old saddles
  • From Tim’s Workshop (Tim Venning) – Artisan wooden goods

Visitors can explore a range of creative products while supporting local craftspeople.

Food, Drinks, and a Relaxing Atmosphere

Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and the bar will be open for attendees to enjoy a drink while browsing antiques and handcrafted goods.

The Dulverton Antiques Valuation Day is more than just a chance to get expert valuations—it’s an opportunity to uncover hidden treasures, test your antique knowledge, and support local artisans. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just curious about an old item, this event promises a fun and educational experience. Make sure to arrive early to secure your spot and see if your attic holds a hidden gem!
