A bright and lively teenager, Grace Billows, was found unresponsive in her bedroom by her mother, Lisa, just hours after she was last seen getting ready for school. The 15-year-old, described as “vibrant and full of life,” passed away on Tuesday, February 11, at her home in Bootle.
Mother’s Heartbreaking Discovery
Lisa, 62, shared her devastating experience, recounting that she had left home that morning to take her youngest daughter, Alice, to a hospital appointment. At that time, Grace was in her room, styling her hair in preparation for school. However, upon returning home, Lisa was met with a heartbreaking sight—Grace was unresponsive on the floor.
Possible Cause of Death and Health Challenges
The official cause of Grace’s death has yet to be confirmed, but Lisa suspects that an epileptic seizure may have been the cause. Grace was diagnosed with epilepsy the previous year and also suffered from Coeliac disease. Despite these health challenges, she remained determined, never allowing her conditions to hold her back from pursuing her passions.
A Passionate and Ambitious Student
Grace was a final-year student at Sacred Heart Catholic Academy in Bootle. Her mother fondly described her as a stubborn yet humorous girl who could captivate anyone with her conversations, particularly about history. “She loved history so much—it was her life. If you started a conversation with her, you couldn’t stop her,” Lisa shared.
She had ambitious plans for her future, hoping to study A-levels in history, English literature, English language, and drama at KGV in Southport.
Dreams Left Unfulfilled
Lisa, who is a full-time carer, revealed that she and Grace had been planning to go shopping for her prom dress just days before her unexpected passing. “She would have made it in life. We had plans together,” Lisa said, mourning the dreams her daughter could no longer fulfill.
