Horror as man stabbed outside pub after 'argument' with 3 men

A 24-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed outside the Glasshouse pub on Lord Street, Southport, following a dispute with three other men. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a balaclava.

Emergency Services Respond to Stabbing Incident

The incident occurred at around 7.40 pm on Friday, February 21. Merseyside Police and ambulance services quickly arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a violent altercation.

Authorities have confirmed that the victim sustained a stab wound to his side but his injuries are not considered serious.

A 24-year-old man from Bootle has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug in relation to the incident.

Police Investigation Underway

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said:

“At about 7.40 pm, officers were called to Lord Street following reports that a man had been stabbed outside the Glasshouse public house. It is believed that the 24-year-old victim sustained a stab wound to his side following an argument with three other males, one of whom was wearing a balaclava.”

Police have launched a forensic examination at the scene, and CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify those involved.

Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher has urged witnesses or anyone with information to come forward:

“The use of knives and other weapons on the streets can have catastrophic consequences for all of those involved. We appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist our inquiries to contact us.”

“Lord Street is a busy road, and I urge any motorists who were driving along at the time and have dashcam footage to get in touch.”
