A 34-year-old man from Peterborough has been banned from driving after a serious crash on the A47 near Wansford left a woman with life-changing injuries.

On October 18, 2023, Zeeshan Yasin, of Scotney Street, Peterborough, was driving along the A47 when he failed to notice stationary traffic ahead. His vehicle crashed into the back of a stationary car, triggering a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in severe injuries for one driver and minor injuries for another.

“Yasin came up with every excuse in the book as to why the collision wasn’t his fault but later admitted the offence in court. This crash has left a lasting effect on all involved, including psychological trauma and long-term physical injuries for the victims, all because of his careless actions.”

He also emphasised the seriousness of careless driving:

“I hope the court’s sentence, including the driving ban, gives Yasin time to reflect on how a momentary lapse in concentration can devastate innocent lives.”
