Bristol Toddler Goes 'on a Mission' With Mom's Makeup

A mum from Bristol has shared the hilarious aftermath of her toddler’s creative adventure after he got hold of her eyeliner and turned the walls into his canvas. Jackline Mwende, 42, had only dozed off for an hour when her two-year-old son, Thabani Canessius, decided it was time for a little art session.

The Make-Up Mishap: How It Happened

On the afternoon of February 4, 2025, Jackline, who had been suffering from a migraine, decided to rest around 4 pm. She assumed her son Thabani was safely napping in his cot. However, toddlers have their own plans.

Thabani managed to reach out of his cot and grab his mum’s eyeliner from a nearby make-up bag. In true toddler fashion, he went on an artistic spree.

Where Did the Eyeliner Go?

Jackline woke up to a surprising scene.

“I saw dark writing on the wall, and my initial reaction was shock-horror. I switched the light on… and I was mortified.”

Mum’s Reaction: From Horror to Laughter

After the initial shock, Jackline couldn’t help but laugh at the situation. Her partner, Goodwill Canessius, also found the incident hilarious.

Jackline said:

“He really went on a mission. We had to wash his mouth, hands, face… even scrub his tongue!”

Despite the mess and clean-up mission ahead, the couple tried to stay calm and handle it with good humour.

The Clean-Up Battle: Eyeliner vs Mum

Cleaning up Thabani’s masterpiece was no easy task.

Clean-Up Steps:

  1. Vinegar & Lemon Juice: First attempt — not effective enough.
  2. Soap & Water: Helped with Thabani’s face, hands, and tongue.
  3. Bleach: Finally, bleach helped restore the wardrobe’s white surface.

Despite the hard work, Jackline remained in good spirits.

Thabani’s Apology: Toddler’s Promise

After the clean-up session, little Thabani understood that his creative artwork wasn’t exactly mum-approved.

He sweetly promised:

“I won’t do it again.”

Though Jackline suspects this might not be the last time her mischievous toddler tries something surprising.

The Internet Reacts: Parents Relate

When Jackline shared her story online, parents across the UK couldn’t stop laughing and sharing their own similar experiences.
